2000g potatoes
150g butter
200ml milk
10g salt
4g pepper

Steps
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into uniform-sized chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold, salted water.
- Bring the water to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.
- Drain the potatoes well in a colander and return them to the hot pot to steam dry for a minute.
- Mash the potatoes with a potato masher until they reach your desired consistency.
- Gently warm the milk and butter in a small saucepan. Pour it over the potatoes.
- Stir until the potatoes are creamy and smooth. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
