500ml beer
2000ml oil
10g salt

Steps

  1. Slice onions into 1/2-inch thick rings and separate them.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, beer, and salt to create a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot to 180°C (360°F).
  4. Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
  5. Carefully place the battered rings into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
