Steps

  1. Slice the avocados in half lengthwise, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado gently with a fork. Aim for a chunky texture, not a completely smooth puree.
  3. Squeeze the fresh lime juice over the avocado to prevent browning and add a zesty flavor.
  4. Finely chop the onion and cilantro, and add them to the bowl. Stir everything together until just combined.
  5. Season generously with salt. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt if needed. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
