800g pizza dough
300ml tomato sauce
400g mozzarella
30g basil

Steps
- Preheat your oven and a pizza stone to its highest setting, typically 245-260°C (475-500°F), for at least 30 minutes.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough with your fingertips to your desired thickness, creating a slightly thicker rim for the crust.
- Lightly dust a pizza peel with flour or cornmeal and place the stretched dough on top.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge.
- Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and scatter them over the sauce. Arrange fresh basil leaves on top.
- Carefully slide the pizza from the peel onto the hot pizza stone in the oven. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
